Travis Kelce might’ve dominated on the field during Sunday’s Chicago Bears vs. Kansas City Chiefs game, but he makes it sound like Taylor Swift was the real star of the evening to him.
In a new episode of his co-hosted podcast, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, the pro-football player spoke on Taylor’s appearance at the game Taylor for the first time.
About halfway through the video, Travis’ brother Jason joked about Taylor Swift putting the star athlete “on the map.” And, in response, the Chiefs tight end gave Swift a “shoutout” for pulling up to the stadium, calling her appearance “pretty ballsy.”
“I just thought it was awesome that everybody in the suite had nothing but good things to say about her. The friends and family, she looked amazing and everybody was talking about her in great light and on top of that the day went perfect for Chiefs fans of course.”
This past weeks, videos and photos show the 33-year-old singer laughing, cheering, and even chest-bumping several of Kelce’s friends and family in a suite. Travis Kelce revealed on the Wednesday-released episode that he was here for it all!
“To see the slow-motion chest bumps, to see the high-fives with mom, to see how Chiefs Kingdom was so excited she was there, that shit was absolutely hysterical, and it was definitely a game I’ll remember that’s for damn sure and then we just slid off in the getaway car at the end.”
Following the game, someone captured a video of Taylor Swift and Travis walking side-by-side through the stadium hallway. There weren’t any apparent signs of intimacy, like hand-holding, between the two. Still, social media exploded with reactions to the sighting — setting off viral dating rumors.
We should add, Taylor hasn’t addressed her duck-off with Kelce since going viral. Back in May, PEOPLE reported that Swift had shared a public kiss with singer Matt Healy. He was her rumored boo at the time.
This, however, isn’t the first time Kelce has spoken on the Swifties artist. In a July episode of his podcast, Travis Kelce revealed he was “butthurt” that he didn’t get to meet Taylor Swift. He had apparently made her a bracelet — no word on whether he gave it to her!
He admitted in Wednesday’s episode that he brought the attention to them. Now, he says he wants to be respectful about their personal lives. He doesn’t plan to speak about them on his show or shows he features on.
“I’m enjoying life, and I sure as hell enjoyed this weekend. Everything moving forward I think me talking about sports and saying ‘alright now’ will have to be where I keep it,” Travis Kelce said of his romance with Swift.
