Caitlyn Jenner has been making headlines since announcing that she would be running for governor of California last week. Some of her recent comments regarding the trans community have people talking once again, particularly transgender model and actress Shauna Brooks.
Recently, Caitlyn expressed that she does not believe trans women who were born male should be allowed to participate in girls’ sports in school. While Caitlyn said that she believes girls need to be protected while participating in sports, Shauna responded with an interesting suggestion for Caitlyn.
“If @Caitlyn_Jenner is in favor of TRANS YOUTH being BANNED by playing in FEMALE sports then SHE should LEAD by example & ALL ‘HER’ achievements in the Olympics STRIPPED cus TBH & fair… ‘Bruce’ got them awards not Cait. #DoWut,” Shauna tweeted.
In the caption, Shauna explained that in her opinion, Caitlyn has always been a present part of Bruce, despite the fact that he was a man competing in male sports back in the day.
“Ion care if y’all think ‘BRUCE’ earned it ‘THEN’ fair and square,” she said. “CAITLYN has ALWAYS been there whether choosing to ACKNOWLEDGE it pre puberty or JUST [cross] dressing behind closed doors. BRUCE is CAIT, CAIT Is EXBRUCE and S-HE issa SHE then & AS in NOW.Only difference is SHE is PUBLICLY herself now but they’ve always been ONE in tandem collectively.”
As we previously reported, Caitlyn was responding to a question regarding new legislation that would ban transgender athletes from competing in sports based on their gender identity last week after TMZ caught up with her.
“There’s a question of fairness. That’s why I oppose biological boys who are trans competing in girls’ sports in school,” Caitlyn said. “It just isn’t fair, and we have to protect girls sports in our schools.”
Caitlyn later doubled down on her comments on Twitter, saying that protecting girls’ sports is an important issue, and fairness is the only thing in question.
