Roommates, just in time to kick off Black Music Month, Amazon has just dropped the first look at the upcoming documentary about the making of Mary J. Blige’s iconic second album “My Life.” While Mary J. Blige initially broke the news of the documentary during her recent Walk Of Fame honor at NYC’s Apollo Theater, Amazon officially released the trailer for the “My Life” documentary—which many consider to be Mary’s best work.
Mary J. Blige is a living legend that has been consistently making hits for 30 years, however one of her projects continues to stand out from the rest and now it’s getting its own official documentary. On June 25th, Amazon Prime video will release a documentary chronicling the making of Mary’s classic album “My Life”—and by the looks of the trailer, fans are definitely in for a treat.
According to the official synopsis of the film, Mary “reveals the demons and blessings that inspired the record and propelled her from the soul-crushing world of New York’s housing projects to international stardom.” The documentary will also follow her celebrating the album’s 25th anniversary back in 2019 by performing the entire album live for the very first time.
Taking to Twitter to share the trailer and announce the news to her fans, Mary wrote:
“I’m so excited to share the trailer for my new documentary. Get ready to learn the story behind one of the most inspiring albums of all time in. #MJBMyLife with Yours Truly!! Coming June 25th to @amazonprimevideo.”
We will be glued to our TV screens as soon as Mary J. Blige’s documentary starts streaming!
