Tracey Edmonds and her fiancé of four years, Deion Sanders, have called off their engagement. According to PEOPLE, the pair began dating in 2012.
On Sunday, December 3, Tracey Edmonds took to Instagram to share a statement with her followers. The 56-year-old revealed that she and Sanders will move forward “as friends.”
Additionally, Edmonds explained that she and Sanders made the decision with “love” and “respect” in their hearts. Furthermore, Edmonds asked that social media users keep her and her ex-fiancé in their prayers as they “go through this transition.”
“To EVERYONE who has been there for us, supported us, and shown us love… We have mutually decided that it is best for us to move forward in life AS FRIENDS and have made this decision with love in our hearts, respect for each other, and appreciation for the time we’ve shared together. Please keep us in your prayers as we go through this transition. Thank you for being there for us ALL THESE YEARS! We love you and appreciate you SO MUCH!… Tracey and Deion,” the statement read via Edmond’s Instagram post.

According to PEOPLE, Edmonds and Sanders met in 2012 at a movie premiere for a film Edmonds reportedly produced. The two exchanged contact information, and as they began working on a reality project together, a romance took form.
“I started off thinking I was just going to produce [‘Deion’s Family Playbook’]. But as I started working with Deion on the show, we grew quite fond of each other and ended up dating,” Edmonds explained at the time, per PEOPLE.
The former couple reportedly engaged in a long-distance relationship where Sanders reportedly credited Edmonds for being a “go-getter.” Additionally, Sanders explained that they both were “at the age and stage where… neither of us needs a lot,” per PEOPLE.
The pair became engaged in 2019 on Valentine’s Day.
