Tory Lanez returned to Twitter on Thursday with more commentary on his ongoing assault and possession case. He responded directly to journalist Eileen Reslen’s fake news alert. The journalist warned online users about unfounded information regarding the crime scene weapon. Tory denied that the claims first published by DJ Akademiks are false.
Tory Clears The Air
The tweet Tory responded to said, “FAKE NEWS ALERT: Any reports of Tory Lanez’s DNA not being found on the weapon in the Megan Thee Stallion case are FALSE. Today’s pre-trial hearing was just postponed to April 5 and that fake news tweet was sent out before the hearing even started.”
In his response, Tory wrote “How they false if I’m looking at them” along with yawning emojis. He shared two additional tweets. In the second to last tweet, he mentioned a coerced friend, but he didn’t name the person.
“They lied to someone I thought was my friend,” Tory wrote. “They coerced her into digging a hole that’s now going to look crazy to the whole community she riled up. She’s not at fault. They are. And it’s said cuz they truly don’t care what happens to her when it’s all said and done.”
Tory’s tweet following the one above simply read, “Enjoy.”
Pre-Trial Bring Heated Exchanges and Claims
But, Wednesday produced a host of exchanges online. The heated words began after Megan responded to DJ Akademiks breaking news tweet. In her Instagram posts, Meg questioned how he had received breaking news from the pre-trial when court wasn’t yet in session during the time he published the information.
This exchange spiraled leading to back-and-forths between Megan and Akademiks, Megan and Tory and even Akademiks and Tasha K.
At one point, Tory even insinuated a past sexual relationship with Meg and her friend Kelsey after Meg published a text thread featuring an unspecified apology from Tory. The artist said the apology was for that sexual slip-up caused by his “good d*ck.” However, Megan opposed that narrative saying Tory knows he apologized because he shot her.
You keep putting a false narrative out that me and my friend fell out abt you and that’s not true,” Megan wrote on her Instagram Story. “Why are you skipping over the shooting just admit you shot me! Bc she definitely ain’t do it and I ain’t shoot my damn self.”
LA County District Attorney’s Office Responds
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office joined the conversation. In a comment to Complex, the office expressed confidence in their case and evidence against Tory Lanez.
“Although we are legally prohibited from commenting on the evidence and will continue to abide by that obligation, our office is under an ethical duty to only proceed on charges which we believe can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt and which have already been upheld by a judge after presentation of evidence at the preliminary hearing,” the comment said. “We believe the evidence substantially supports the charges and allegations and that evidence will be borne out in court.”
For now, the case’s pre-trial will resume on April 5.
