Tomi Lahren is in the hot seat after telling Michelle Obama to “sit down” following Michelle’s comments about America previously having a great president. While urging voters to participate in the midterm elections, she told the Las Vegas crowd, “you can’t vote some of the time and then sit out. We saw that happen. We experienced that. We HAD a great president,” she said. “If we want qualified that we trust, then people have to vote.”
Clearly, her message had Tomi MAD mad because Tomi took to Twitter to give her rebuttal. “Michelle Obama said we “had” a great president. By what measure?” she tweeted. “Not I economic growth. Not in border enforcement. Not in strength on the world stage. Sit down, Michelle.”
Celebrities like Wale and Kathy Griffin responded to Tomi via Twitter.
Speaking of the midterm elections, they are taking place November 6th, 2018. All 435 seats in the United States House of Representatives and 35 of the 100 seats in the United States Senate will be contested.
It is important for us all to get out and vote in EVERY election – as opposed to only the presidential elections. History suggests that “The party that holds the White House almost always loses seats in midterm elections, especially during a president’s first term, and especially when a president’s approval rating is below 50 percent.” (Via The Washington Post)
As Michelle Obama said, we can’t vote some of the time and then sit out. Let’s keep the same energy we had when we wanted to get President Obama in and keeping him in office. Let’s hit the voting polls and make our voices be heard. As much as we protest, joke, and make noise via social media, it doesn’t count unless we make it count!
