Tom Brady and wife Gisele Bündchen appear to be officially calling it quits, having hired divorce lawyers amidst ongoing marital issues in recent months.
Page Six cites sources close to the situation, who told the outlet that both have retained divorce attorneys.
The couple had been previously living separately for the last several months after a highly-publicized blowout over Tom’s decision to unretire and return to the NFL, The Shade Room previously reported earlier this year.
The two are now looking at dividing up their multimillion-dollar empire, with one source telling the outlet that they “never actually thought this argument would be the end of them.”
“I never actually thought this argument would be the end of them, but it looks like it is,” one source in the know tells Page Six.
“I don’t think there will be any coming back now. They both have lawyers and are looking at what a split will entail, who gets what and what the finances will be.”
Representatives for both Brady and Bündchen did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
However, Page Six reports that insiders close to the couple say both will remain very involved in their children lives, and will share joint custody in any divorce proceedings.
The seven-time Super Bowl champ, 45, and the supermodel, 42, share son Benjamin, 12, and daughter Vivian, 9, and Brady is also the father of son Jack, 15, with ex Bridget Moynahan.
The couple will likely file for divorce in Florida where they are currently based, according to legal experts, with Brady playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after a lengthy stint with the New England Patriots.
Another source close to the situation confirmed the couple is looking at dividing their assets, including a $26 million real estate portfolio.
Their properties include homes in Costa Rica, a condo at 70 Vestry St. in Tribeca valued at $3.6 million, as well as a $5.7 million property at the Yellowstone Club in Montana.
Their most recent purchase was a $17 million home on Indian Creek Island in Miami in December 2020, nicknamed “Billionaires Bunker,” with initial plans to knock down the 5,172-square-foot, five-bedroom mansion and build a new one.
Brady’s estimated net worth spike from $180 million to $250 million between the years of 2021 and 2022 alone.
In May, Forbes reported he is the ninth-highest paid athlete in the world, with endorsement deals including Under Armor, Sam Adams, Foot Locker and Tag Heuer.
The pair both fled Tampa for Miami ahead of Hurricane Ian, however the two are still staying apart.
A source told Page Six that Bündchen has been staying in the Miami home that she and Brady rented in 2020. However, it’s not clear where the quarterback was staying.
Another source told the outlet that the pending divorce may have to do with Brady reneging on his NFL retirement, however “it’s not just one thing.”
“As with many marriages, it’s not just one thing. Gisele has made it clear that she worried about Tom playing football and that they had had many talks about it.
But they have had a series of blowups over the past few years, and this time it looks like there’s no going back.”
