Tokyo Stylez has been struggling with “foot problems and insecurities” since childhood, she says. So, she researched and booked a podiatrist’s services to address her corns, bunions, and toe lengths.
This is all new information to her million-plus Instagram followers, Tokyo said in a video clip explaining her cosmetic surgery.
“I just wanted to come and share a little insight on some things that I’ve never shared with anyone else that you do not know. I’ve been struggling and dealing with some foot problems and insecurities that I’ve had since I was younger. That’s part of the reason why you’ve never seen my feet in photos, and if you have, they were edited,” Mia shared.
She shared before-and-after shots of her feet, an explainer video by Dr. Abraham Wagner, and insight into the procedure prep.
Growing up, Tokyo says she was active in sports and dance but also wore ill-fitting shoes. She says all that contributed to the corns on “almost every toe,” two bunions, and irregular toe lengths.
Tokyo Stylez Says She Felt Pressured As A Woman To Have ‘Feminine Feet’
Revealing this information “took a lot,” Tokyo said in her post’s caption. That’s because the stylist holds attention with the styling of celebrity crowns. She’s built an entertainment industry reputation with hair slays, particularly on her most public client, rapper Cardi B.
“I am now at the stage where I said enough is enough after doing tons of research on these procedures, I finally found someone who could give me the foot makeover I always desired. As a woman, it’s so expected to have feminine feet. I feel under pressure sometimes because when I leave my house, I have to worry about what shoes I can wear to hide my feet. I always wanted to be able to put on a cute sandals without putting makeup on my feet to try and cover them.”
Podiatrist Explains Tokoyo Stylez’s Foot Procedure, She Calls It ‘A Dream Come True’
Dr. Wagner got on-camera, walking viewers through his solutions for the corns on “almost every toe,” two bunions and irregular toe lengths.
“Our primary goal is very simple, a combination of not only addressing the functional elements but also the aesthetic elements,” Dr. Wagner said. “At the top, obviously foot feminization transformation.
The good news about Mia is that–we were talking about it before–the foundation is there. Her feet, believe it or not, are really really cute to begin with. So that really is a winner. Her feet are not wide. Her feet are slim and thin so that gives us a real nice start.”
While this video was taken post-surgery, Mia also showed the procedure prep, which included numbing her feet and adding markings for the surgery. The Miami-based podiatrist asked Tokyo if the numbing process hurt, and she replied, “No pain, just a little pinch here and there, but no pain at all.”
The post-op photos show stitches on both feet, including the three middle and big toes. They were wrapped with pink bandages.
Nonetheless, the stylist says the procedure was a “dream come true.”
“So for me, this is a dream come true that I’m able to get this fixed I had lost hope for so long, but Dr. Wagner made me feel hopeful after meeting with him at our first consultation he told me the honest truth on what exactly to expect and that this is not like any other surgery.”
There didn’t appear to be any work on Tokyo’s fingernails, which seemed black, with large chunks missing. She explained that an injury caused the nail loss.
“My toenails look like that cause I hit both my toes on corner of bed, and it bruised bad causing the nail to fall off I had acrylics on, so if you know, then you know [laughing emoticon] don’t judge me I’m not perfect,” Tokyo added.
