As funny as those #TLCGoingToJailParty memes were, we knew deep down those girls wouldn’t scam people out their money like that. T-Boz called in to The Rickey Smiley Show to clear things up and assure fans that they did not get robbed.
For those of you who missed it. TLC started a Kickstarter campaign in January in attempts to get funding for their final group album. T-Boz and Chilli set a goal of $150,000, which was almost tripled when fan donations hit $430,000 in just 30-days.
The group promised the album would be released sometime between early September and mid-October, but now that Thanksgiving turkeys are damn near hitting the plate, one fan grew impatient and tweeted T-Boz for a refund.
When T-Boz advised the fan to “Call Kickstarter and tell em yo give it bk”(Got emm), people believed the group scammed everyone.
T-Boz explained on The Rickey Smiley Show that the album is still on the way, and that they have been weekly updating all donors since the beginning.
She also called out some of her followers for not doing the proper research. The latest update on the Kickstarter site states that the album will be done sometime in 2016. No pressure, but we’re hoping the album doesn’t get pushed back anymore.
