Tisha Campbell is clearing the air about what happened after she alleged that she was almost a victim of human sex trafficking earlier this week. Tisha has faced backlash and went on TMZ to explain what happened. As she previously said on Instagram, she details calling a taxi because there were no Ubers available in the area. When the taxi approached Tisha, a man hopped out of the backseat and commanded her to get in the van. However, Tisha got loud and caused a scene to attract attention because she knew things weren’t right.
Initial reports stated Tisha was in Brownsville, TX, but the actress clarified that the film she was shooting was in that city, but the incident occured at a Marriott in South Padre Island. During her interview with TMZ, she clarified a police report was filed with the South Padre Police Department. The actress had a bit more to say about the incident and says she is dealing with trauma following because she has to defend herself and encouraged any victim to use their voice and speak out.
“That’s why it’s important for women or people in general who’s gone through any kind of victimization to make sure that they talk. You know you’re quick to be silenced because you’re scared of people not believing you or being berated or any of that stuff. It’s very hard to do, but you should do it.” Tisha continued saying, “It doesn’t matter whether you’re being sexually harassed, raped, trafficked, anything.”
Tisha ended the interview by standing ten toes down on her message and that it was very clear she needed people to make sure they take care of themselves and their loved ones. She also advised folks to look out and educate themselves on situations that could’ve been bad.
