Tina Turner’s Son Ronnie Dead At The Age Of 62, Four Years After Eldest Son’s Suicide

Tina Turner has suffered yet another tragedy this week after her son Ronnie died at the age of 62, just years after another one of her children killed themselves.

His wife, Afida, was the first to announce his untimely passing on Instagram.

“My god Ronnie turner a true angel huge soul highly spiritual my husband my best friend my baby your mummy your nurse i did the best to the end this time i was no [sic] able to save you love u for this 17 years this is very very very bad i am very mad 😡,” Afida captioned a post full of photos of her late husband.

She added: “This is a tragedy u with your brother craig and your father ike turner and aline rest in paradise 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️😭😭💔💔 so unfair.”

In an Instagram post shared Friday, Tina Turner wrote that Ronnie, whose father was Ike Turner, had “left the world far too early.” Ronnie was the only son born from her relationship with Ike Turner.

“In sorrow I close my eyes and think of you, my beloved son,” the 83-year-old wrote.

TMZ reports that law enforcement received an emergency call from someone claiming Ronnie was struggling to breathe. Just a few minutes later, he stopped breathing entirely.

First responders tried CPR to revive Ronnie, however he was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.

Exact Cause Of Ronnie’s Death Remains Unknown, But He Did Battle Cancer Years Back

The exact cause of Ronnie’s death remains unknown as of Friday, but he had dealt with various health problems over the years, including cancer according to the outlet.

Turner has four children, with the eldest, Craig, having committed suicide at the age of 59 via self-inflicted gunshot would back in July 2018.

“I think Craig was lonely, that’s what I think really got him more than anything else,” Turner told Gayle King in an interview a year later. “I have pictures all around of him smiling, and I think I’m sensing that he’s in a good place. I really do.”

Turner was only 18 years old when she had Craig, with her second husband, Ike Turner, adopting the child after the two got together. Craig’s biological father, Raymond Hill, was a saxophone player for the band ‘Kings of Rhythm.’

The “What’s Love Got To Do With It” later told the New York Times that she lived a “terrible life” due to all the abuse she suffered at Ike’s hand, alongside illnesses she has battled over the years.

She said she just “kept going” in the face of all the adversity.

“I had a terrible life,” she shared. “I just kept going. You just keep going, and you hope that something will come.”

She then pointed to her luxurious home in Switzerland, Chateau Algonquin, adding “This came.”
