Tina Knowles has reportedly settled her divorce with Richard Lawson, and the terms of their split have been revealed.
On Thursday, August 15, In Touch Weekly published an exclusive report asserting that the outlet obtained court documents of the pair’s divorce settlement. Knowles and Lawson reportedly agreed that “irreconcilable differences… led to the irremediable breakdown” of their marriage. This reportedly left it “impossible for the parties to live together as husband and wife.”
Furthermore, the settlement reportedly states that Tina Knowles was awarded, or retained, a 2018 Tesla, a 2020 Bentley, a Penguin Random House book deal, a “1 percent interest in Kirby Beauty Management LLC,” furniture, artwork, and creative works generated by her during their marriage.
Meanwhile, Lawson was reportedly awarded a 2021 Cadillac Escalade, “several bank and retirement accounts,” payments owed to Richard Lawson Studios, and the creative works he generated during their union.
The outlet adds that Knowles has agreed to pay off any credit cards in her name. Additionally, Knowles is expected to satisfy “all outstanding balances on any and all household expenses.”
Meanwhile, Lawson will reportedly cover his credit card debt and debt related to his 2021 Cadillac Escalade. Additionally, he will reportedly receive a one-time payment of $300,000 from his ex-wife.
In Touch Weekly reports that the former couple did not want either to receive spousal support.
Lastly, the settlement reportedly notes a non-disparagement clause agreed upon by Knowles and Lawson. The clause asserts that neither can speak “negatively about the other or the other’s children and their spouses.” Furthermore, their “grandchildren” are also reportedly included in that notion.
“With respect to the mutual desire to protect the privacy rights of any and all present or future grandchildren of either party, the parties agree that they will not, when asked by any media or person, discuss said grandchildren or future grandchildren whether verbally or in writing,” the settlement reportedly reads.
As The Shade Room previously reported, Knowles and Lawson tied the knot in April 2015. In Touch Weekly adds that the pair’s ceremony included a star-studded guest list featuring Samuel L. Jackson and others.
According to the outlet, the pair’s separation date is listed as July 25, 2023. Knowles reportedly filed for divorce from Lawson the following day.
Furthermore, the former couple has not issued a formal statement about their separation or divorce. However, in July, Lawson spoke to Entertainment Tonight about remaining “able to receive love” despite his tribulations in love.
