Marshawn Lynch has been receiving positive responses since his decision to sit during the National Anthem at a preseason game against the Cardinals.
However, one football great is not here for Marshawn’s recent decision.
In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Tim Brown, who played with the Raiders for 16 years, kept it completely honest and shared his thoughts on why he didn’t agree with Marshawn’s actions.
Brown said, “Why man? Why bring this to yourself? He has the perfect thing going on in Oakland. Why bring negativity to this incredible positive situation? … I just don’t get it.”
He continued, “I understand these guys man, they’re trying to make statements and they’re trying to be a part of this world but football is where people go to get away from that stuff.”
Brown went on to say that he is positive that the Raiders would support Marshawn Lynch anyway they could inside and outside of the stadium.
When it comes to whether or not Brown thinks Marshawn should stand during the next game, he said, “I hope so! I hope this is a preseason thing, he’s not suiting up or whatever and I hope he’s just ignoring it from that standpoint. I would hate to see this season be marred with people protesting him.”
