Tiffany Haddish’s resume continues to expand. The comedian/ actress has been cast in one of Netflix’s upcoming animated series.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the streaming service has handed out a straight to series order for a new series titled “Tuca and Birtie.” The 10-episode series will star Haddish as the voice of Tuca.
Based on the synopsis, the animation revolves around “the friendship between two 30-year-old bird-women who live in the same apartment building: Tuca (Haddish), a cocky-care-free toucan, and Bertie, an anxious, day-dreaming songbird.”
This new project comes from the team behind “BoJack Horseman.” Haddish will serve as one of the executive producers alongside, Lisa Hanawalt, Raphael Bob-Waksberg, Noel Bright and Steven A. Cohen.
Sources close to the streaming service say that animation is the next area they plan to expand on.
