The rapper was likely around 14 years old at the time. The video starts off with the young spitter writing in her diary about a boy she secrelty admires. It then shows scenes of a young Latto rocking braids as she raps by a water display. Another scene shows lil’ Latto bashfully chatting with her crush on a lunch date at the mall.

The song is an innocent ode to young love. She sings, “I got a C-R-U-S-H on you,  a C-R-U-S-H on yooou.”

Commenters under The Shade Room’s report weighed in on Latto’s early work.

Some Roommates commended the rapper for making music that was age-appropriate.

“This literally a bop, MUSIC FOR KIDS MADE BY KIDS. I love how she really grew up in this & dominating s*** right now as a grown a** woman,” @hollybeh wrote.

Furthermore, a Roomie suggested that the Atlanta rapper recreate the song, writing, “Sis should remix this is as an adult – it may be [fire emoji].” Roughly 7,000 Roomies ‘liked’ the suggestion.
Additonally, other Roommates stated that they became fans of the ‘Youngst N Richest’ rapper during this era.
“y’all late this how we met latto,” @breahnaamari said.
@kalothe1 added, “shawty had Atlanta schools in a chokehold.”
@iamniavaughan chimed in, “MANNNNNN YALL KNOW LATTO NOW BUT YALL DONT KNOW THAT MISS MULATTO FR.”
Latto—born Alyssa Michelle Stephens— began rapping well before puberty. She appeared on Lifetime’s ‘The Rap Game’ as a late teen and won the show’s first season. Latto secured her first notable hit in 2019 with ‘B**** From Da Souf,’ which resulted in a deal with RCA. Furthermore, the following year she released the single, ‘Muwop’ featuring Gucci Mane that was a smash hit.  Both tracks are now certified Gold.

One thing holds true, nobody can accuse her of being an ‘industry plant.’ Sis really got it out the sandbox mud.
