Thousand Of People Attend Young Dolph’s Celebration Of Life Service In Memphis

Long Live Dolph! Today, thousands of Memphians, celebrities, friends, and family members of the late Young Dolph gathered inside Memphis’ FedExForum to honor the legacy, family man, businessman, and philanthropist. Dolph’s service, which was live-streamed on Revolt, was a testament to the type of man he was. Although the service was sad, it was also inspiring.

The talented Keke Wyatt took to the stage and sang a beautiful rendition of “His eye is on the sparrow” that moved everyone in the audience.

Keke wasn’t the only celebrity to show Dolph love. C Murda also shared condolences from behind bars in Angola State Prison in Louisiana. In the video, C spoke highly of Dolph and shared how the late rapper consistently checked in on him to make sure he was doing. In addition, he shared that how Dolph financially supported his children while serving his prison sentence. R&B singer Monica appeared on following C and read a heartfelt letter by the rapper, where he declared that Dolph made him a better man.

Dolph’s wife Mia Jaye and their children took to the stage to speak about Dolph’s legacy. Mia, who affectionately referred to him as her soulmate, said, “He was the brilliant man, intelligent man, charming man, he was everything.” As she continued, she explained how giving and amazing Dolph was and asked God to heal her and her children’s hearts. Dolph’s son, Adolph Thornton III, said, “My dad trained me to be a good man when I grow up. Now since he’s gone, I’m going to make it up to the whole world, and I’m going to be the greatest person you” ever know.

As the service concluded, state Senator Katrina Robinson presented a resolution from Tennessee to Mia commemorating Young Dolph’s philanthropy and declared November 17th as the official Adolph’ Young Dolph’ Thornton, Jr. Day of Service In Tennessee & Georgia.

As attendees left Dolph’s service, Fox 13 Memphis reported a shooting that occurred but later updated the public that police advised it wasn’t. Instead, it was a tire that ruptured.

Our thoughts continue to go out to the family of Young Dolph.
