By now many of you have already seen the viral video of Da Baby slapping a fan in Tampa as he walked through a crowd of fans. He says that he was hit in the face with a cellphone, and apologized for his actions.
The woman who was on the receiving end of the slap spoke out to the first time. In an interview with TMZ, Tyronesha Laws told her side of the story and said that it was the woman next to her that had the flashlight in Da Baby’s face, but she was the one who was slapped in return.
She says that she went to the hospital and was diagnosed with a contusion to her cheekbone. She also talked to the site about Da Baby making a joke about the incident after he appeared in a skit that seemingly reenacted the incident inside of a clothing store.
Tyronesha said, “I don’t feel like he was sincere with the apology, I was embarrassed, I got people calling me, writing me on Instagram through fake pages. People seeing me at my job and saying ‘oh you’re the girl that got slapped.’ It’s embarrassing!”
She continued to say that she was not offered medical service, and she says that she was given a hard time at first when it came to obtaining a police report.
As we previously reported, Da Baby issued an apology through his Instagram story, and although the victim’s identity was unknown at the time, he offered to fly the young lady out to apologize to her in person as well.
In the video, he said, “I do sincerely apologize. I’m very sorry that was a female on the other end of that flashlight on that phone. But you know, keep in mind I couldn’t see you cause you have a flash that’s this close to me, which is okay, it’s no problem. A lot of people did, they didn’t put it as close as you put it, but a lot of people had flash on me and that’s okay, that’s what I signed up for, that’s the risk I take when I’m coming to put on a show for my fans.”
