The Officer Who Went Viral On TikTok For Speaking Out Against The Officers Involved In George Floyd’s Murder Was Fired

Roommates, when the world came together to protest on behalf of George Floyd (and racial injustice at large) the world felt the impact.  Protests lasted for days, and the conversation of police brutality and racial injustice became priority news during a time where everyone was focused on a pandemic we still feel the effects of today. Though protests have subsided, the conversation hasn’t gone away. Now, so many people continue to spread awareness of racial injustice, speak out about police brutality and hold those accountable if they have negated to use their platform appropriately.

One man in particular used his platform to bring awareness to police brutality but unfortunately has felt the brunt of what speaking out can do. Officer Williams, who went viral for speaking out and denouncing the other officers involved in George Floyd’s murder, has been relieved of his duties as an officer. In the TikTok video, Officer Williams explains how important it is to administer aid and deescalate a situation as an officer.

A few months after his post, he went back to social media to give an unfortunate update. In his video he explained, once his TikTok video went viral, an internal investigation was launched. He then explained that he was also put on administrative leave during the process. Today he confirmed that he was actually fired. See what he had to say below:

Mind you, Breonna Taylor’s killers still haven’t been arrested but an officer speaking about proper protocol has been fired.. someone make it make sense! If you are interested in donating to Officer Williams, he has a go fund me link in his bio here!
