The Simpsons Renewed For A Record Setting 30th Season–Keep Em Coming Or Make It Stop?

Fox renewed the classic cartoon “The Simpsons” for a 30th season. The show is currently on its 28th season, and according to TV Line, it will steal the crown from Gunsmoke as the scripted series with the most episodes under its belt.

Gunsmoke had a total of 635 episodes, and The Simpsons will have a total of 669 episodes by the end of the 30th season.

Kudos to the creators of the show on their success but all I can think of is all these seasons and Maggie’s still a baby…but that’s none of my business.

“Homer Simpson” made the following statement: “Take that Gunsmoke! You lost a race you didn’t even know you were running!”

Via TV Line:

“This is yet another record-setting moment for what is truly a landmark series,” said Dana Walden and Gary Newman, Chairmen and CEOs, Fox Television Group. “The Simpsons has meant so much to the network, the studio and everyone at Fox, and its continued cultural impact around the globe is a testament to the combined brilliance of [exec producers] Matt, Jim and Al.”
