The Roots Picnic Coming To NYC This Fall

This past weekend the ninth annual Roots Picnic went down in Philadelphia, and now the festival will make its debut in NYC this upcoming fall.

The Roots announced that the event would go down on October 1st and 2nd at Bryant Park produced by Live Nation.

The Roots, D’Angelo and John Mayer will headline the first day. And Wu-Tang Clan, Nile Rogers and David Byrne will headline the second day. Other performers expected to hit the stage include Jeremih, EPMD, Styles P, Swizz Beatz and a host of others.

Questlove talked about the festivals expansion, “There’s going to be pop up shops there, really good curated food, comedy, DJ parties there and acts that you wouldn’t expect… We’re deeply involved in everything, from the grass area to the food you’re gonna eat to the music you’re gonna hear in between. We’re a part of all of that.”
