Roommates, it’s been a few months since the jaw-dropping drama of the 2020 presidential election had the country on the edge of its seat waiting to find out the results of now-President Joe Biden’s campaign run—but according to a new poll, The Rock may have his sights set on the Oval Office as well. In response to the recent results of a poll revealing that almost 50% of Americans would vote for him as president, The Rock made it clear that he would humbly accept the people’s nomination.
A recent poll released earlier this week by Piplsay uncovered that nearly half of Americans would support a presidential run by none other than former wrestler and action star, The Rock. The online poll was conducted among 30,138 adults between April 2nd and April 4th, with no margin of error listed.
Responding to the poll results, The Rock tweeted the following message:
“Humbling. Not sure our Founding Fathers ever envisioned a six-four, bald, tattooed, half-Black, half-Samoan, tequila drinking, pick up truck driving, fanny pack wearing guy joining their club – but if it ever happens it’d be my honor to serve you, the people.”
In case you’re thinking this is all out-of-the-blue, it’s not. The Rock has publicly stated on several occasions that he would seriously consider running for president. Back in February of this year, he told “USA Today” that a decision about his political future would be “up to the people.”
“I would consider a presidential run in the future if that’s what the people wanted. Truly I mean that, and I’m not flippant in any way with my answer. That would be up to the people…So I would wait, and I would listen. I would have my finger on the pulse, my ear to the ground,” he said at the time.
