Last night, the cast of the sold-out-for-the-next-two-years hit show “Hamilton” concluded the night with a message to Vice President-elect Mike Pence who was sitting in the audience. “We, sir– we are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us,” said actor Brandon Victor Dixon, who portrays Aaron Burr. “We truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and to work on behalf of all of us. This is one American story told by a diverse group of men and women of different colors, creeds, and orientations,” he said.
Considering how Hamilton promotes immigration and diversity, attending the show seemed very odd for a guy like Mike Pence. Factor in Donald Trump demanding that the cast apologize to his “veep” via Twitter today plus his supporters calling for a “Hamilton” boycott (even though it’s sold out for the next two years) and you’ve got a recipe for a perfect drag session! Twitter users came up with the #NameAPenceMusical as a “‘tuh” to both Trump and Pence. No one is apologizing and instead are having some fun by mocking some of their policies!
