Beyoncé attended the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Monday, April 1, and took home a major honor.
According to CNN, this year’s iHeartRadio award ceremony occurred at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California. At one point in the ceremony, singer Stevie Wonder took to the stage to present Beyoncé with the Innovator Award.
Wonder reportedly noted that Queen Bey is the “first African-American woman to headline Coachella.” Additionally, he explained that she’s kept “a number one hit across all four decades since the 1990s.”
Beyoncé accepted her award in a vintage leather Versace ensemble with gold embellishments, per WWD. When she arrived on stage, she initially thanked Wonder for presenting her with the honor.
“Thank you for making a wave for all of us. I’m honored to receive this recognition from you,” she told Wonder, per CNN. “Whenever anyone asks me if there’s anyone I could listen to for the rest of my life, it’s always you.”
From there, Queen Bey went on to share what being an “innovator” means to her and even dedicated her honor before sharing her thank yous.
