Texas High School Issues Statement After Video Of Student Physically Attacking Teacher Goes Viral

In the last few days, a video of a white, female student physically attacking and making race-based comments towards her Black teacher has made its social media rounds. Well, it looks like the school at which the incident occurred has also seen the video! Castleberry High School in Texas issued a statement on Monday addressing the viral video.

“We first want to commend the teacher for the calm demeanor and utter professionalism she demonstrated throughout the entirety of the incident, even when the situation turned violent and offensive,” the statement said. “We support this teacher and her response in the strongest terms possible.”

The statement also said that the school district contacted police due to the “criminal activity” in the video. However, the district is also reportedly conducting their own investigation.

“In addition, the District is currently conducting its own investigation, including reviewing video footage and taking statements of those present.

In closing, the statement says Castleberry will not tolerate “harassment, racism and violence” against their teachers.

In the clip, the teacher is seen making a phone call using a landline. The unidentified student walks to the front of the classroom and ends the call. The teacher reaches over to move the student’s hand from the phone dial click.

Suddenly, the student slaps the teacher’s hand and says “deal with me.” Immediately afterwards, the teacher walks around to the front of her desk, faces the student and says “you touched me, I didn’t touch you.” As the teacher walks to the door to seek help, the student then begins to call her mom.

When the teacher returns and tries to take the phone, the student blocks her hand and says “no, I’m calling my mama cause you ain’t about to f**k me up bi***.”

Then, she appears to get her mother on the line, per the conversation. The student begins yelling into the phone saying “you want to talk to her cause she’s Black and she’s f*****g pissing me off right now.” Then, the student throws the handheld part of the phone at the teacher. At this point, the teacher is sitting behind the desk.

Students snickered and made comments, but no one seemed to intervene in the short clip.

This is a developing story.
