It’s no secret that there is a lot of tension between many black men and cops, due to the many cases of discrimination and police brutality around the country.
30-year-old Shannon J. Miles, went the wrong route and gunned down an officer as he was at a gas station pumping gas.
Miles shot veteran Deputy Darren Goforth from the back as he was standing at the pump in his uniform. He then proceeded to continue firing his gun even when the Deputy hit the ground.
Authorities don’t know exactly what his motive was for the shooting, but they do believe it’s because of all the tension going on in African American Communities with the police.
Deputy Goforth left behind a wife and two children in his passing.
Miles will be charged with capital murder.
Let’s just hope that there is not a riot because of this. It looks like people are taking it amongst themselves to strike back at cops, but we must find a better solution. Violence doesn’t cure itself with violence.
