The teen held his teachers and classmates hostage in the small town of Philippi, where Philip Barbour High School is located.
He was first spotted with gun around 1:30pm today when he brought it into a second floor classroom, alarming students and faculty as he made them his hostages.
Police were informed about the situation and the school was put on lockdown, while students in other parts of the school were moved to the football field, accounted for, then released home.
After hours of holding them hostage, he finally negotiated with officials to let the hostages go free.
Thankfully no one was injured! As you all know these situations don’t usually end so pleasantly.
The boy is now in custody and has been taken to a hospital for mental evaluation.
