Former MTV star Jenelle Evans and her husband, David Eason, are speaking out against recent reports and speculation about the Teen Mom 2 alum’s firstborn, Jace Evans.
On Wednesday (Oct. 4), TMZ reported that Jenelle and David were being investigated for child neglect. This emerged on the heels of The Ashley’s Reality Roundup reporting that Jenelle’s mother, Barbara Evans, allegedly told authorities that Jace ran away after supposedly “being assaulted by David Eason.” Furthermore, The Sun also reported that child protective services (CPS) investigators were allegedly investigating Jenelle and David.
Of course, these accusations came on the heels of TMZ stating that Jace had supposedly been reported as a missing person after allegedly sneaking out of Jenelle’s North Carolina home last week. This was noted as being at least the third time that Jace ran away in the past two months.
We should add that Jenelle confirmed that Jace was “located” and “safe” following his latest disappearance. Harrowingly, TMZ alleges that the 14-year-old was found with visible markings. Additionally, the outlet reports that authorities have Ring camera footage of an alleged assault.
In light of the reports, Jenelle Evans spoke out through her Instagram Story and blasted the “false accusations.” Rather than acknowledging the abuse claims, she appeared to hone in on speculation that “Jace was removed from [her] custody.”
“Idk why there’s rumors going around that Jace was removed from my custody because that is not true. Stop making false accusations about my family!”
Jenelle also shared a video in which she declared, “My son is still in my custody.”
“Some of y’all never cease to surprise me, I swear. You’re really, really gullible. … You have no idea what you’re commenting on. You don’t know about any details of the situation. Yet all you guys wanna sit here and continuously harass all my accounts.”
She added, “My son was never taken from my custody. My son is still in my custody. I still have primary custody.”
Over on X (formerly known as Twitter), Jenelle also accused Barbara Evans of “using police to falsely report” in an attempt to “make [them] look bad as a family.”
She also declared, “This isn’t about David whether you want to blame him or not. My mom says a lot of untrue things lately to everyone about me.”
Taking it back to August, we should add that Jenelle shared a TikTok and noted that Jace had been “having a hard time for the past 2, 3 years.” She also declared that “there was a big reason behind” why Barbara gave Jenelle custody of Jace.
While she didn’t go into detail, she told viewers, “Monitor your kids’ phones.” Additionally, she suggested that issues regarding her firstborn were related to him being upset over his phone getting taken away.
As for David Eason, he shared a lengthy post on Tuesday (Oct. 3) to declare, “Police reports have been falsified and the truth is already apparent to everyone involved.”
“It takes a sick person to spread lies on the internet about a child! Then the rest of you are sick for chiming in like you know something because you read their lies. You people really need help! Our kids are in our custody and anything you read is not true! Police reports have been falsified and the truth is already apparent to everyone involved. Barbara is NOT involved and she is NOT allowed to speak to him right now. The best thing any of you can do for Jace is to stop talking about him all together please!”
This development comes about six and a half months after Jenelle officially regained custody of Jace, as The Shade Room reported.
Jenelle shared the development in an emotional Instagram post. Prior to this update, Jace had been living with his grandmother since he was an infant, and Teen Mom 2 viewers got to follow the drama from the very first episode of the series.
While on the subject of the speculation surrounding the couple, we should point out that they’ve had their fair share of abuse-related controversies.
Back in 2018, Jenelle called 911 and accused David of cracking her collarbone. A year later, David Eason admitted to shooting the couple’s dog after it allegedly bit their young daughter. As a result, they briefly lost custody of their kids, and E! News reports that Evans eventually acquired a temporary restraining order against Eason, alleging that she was “scared for [her] life.”
“Because of his recent threats, his history of violence, his erratic behavior and his large stockpile of weapons, I am scared for my life and my children’s well-being.”
Nathan Griffith, the father of Jenelle’s secondborn son, has also previously expressed concerns that David was abusive.
However, Jenelle and David eventually reconciled.
