Back in 2003, actor #TayeDiggs met fellow actress #IdinaMenzel while working on the set of the ‘Rent’ film. They would later get married and have a son before divorcing in 2014. Thankfully, the actress has found love again and she’s found it in former ‘Rent’ co-star Aaron Lohr! She revealed the news of their engagement on Twitter last Friday by saying, “As if this week couldn’t get any better I have wonderful news … my man and I are engaged! We are so happy. It’s a beautiful time.”
Menzel has always been vocal about how difficult it was to go through her divorce with Diggs and recently decided to release new music. The project titled “idina” is reflective of her journey after the divorce and is about learning to forgive herself. She told PEOPLE that after the divorce, she had to learn not to be so hard on herself and to forgive herself for putting her son through such a sad time. “You have a lot of regret with a child, feeling like you’re failing them in some way and not giving them the idealistic scenario,” she said.
Menzel’s new song ‘Perfect Story’ captures all of those emotions and made her cry when she performed it for the first time on Sunday.
