Roomies, it looks like the 2024 BET Awards will be filled with surprises — particularly from the ceremony’s host, Taraji P. Henson.
As The Shade Room previously reported, Taraji P. Henson will host the BET Awards for the third consecutive year, airing live on Sunday, June 28 at 8 p.m. EST.
Prior to her stage appearance, Taraji P. Henson shared with PEOPLE the surprises she has in store for the big night. Henson told the outlet that she plans to unveil a hidden talent only known to a few.
“I’m showcasing yet another talent that a lot of you don’t know that I can do. Some of you know, but not all of you. I just haven’t had the stage. I have, actually, once. But everybody didn’t see it. This is culture’s biggest night. The world will know.”
Taraji further revealed that despite hosting the BET Awards twice, she still gets a few jitters.
“I love nerves. I still get nervous. I get nervous on the first day of shooting. It’s a live show. Anything can go right or wrong, you know, but that’s what’s so exciting. That’s what I love about live theater. It keeps you on your toes.
Taraji also expressed her excitement about returning this year, promising viewers and the audience an incredible show.
“So, I’m really excited this year. It’s gonna be an incredible show. It’s culture’s biggest night. The performances are gonna blow us all away. We got Will Smith, guys. I am so excited to see what he has up his sleeve.”
