Earlier this week, one of Trump’s senior advisors thanked Ice Cube for assisting the Trump Administration on a plan to help Black America–Contract With Black America (CWBA). Once people on social media heard the news, many were not here for it. Some basically referred to him as a sell out and were in shock. Though he responded and made it clear that he presented both parties with the CWBA, many still felt some type of way.
In an interview with Power 106.1, T.I. stated that you have to pretty much give the West Coast rapper the benefit of a doubt. He’s been solid all this time. So, why think anything differently?
T.I. stated,
“What you have to do is, you have to give Cube the benefit of his reputation,” he expressed. “If we ain’t never known, or seen, or caught Cube on no bulls-t ,doing no tap dancing and bending over backwards for no white supremacist, why you think he just gon’ start right now, 35-40 years in? Why? You gotta give him the credit of his credibility.”
On yesterday, Ice Cube took to Twitter and wrote,
“When I got bus to school. Homies called me a sellout. When I started rapping in 1983. Bangers called me a sellout. When I left NWA. They called me a sellout. When I start doing movies. Rappers called me a sellout. When I started my own league. The arena said it was a sellout.”
As previously reported, when Ice Cube initially addressed the criticism, he stated.
“Facts: I put out the CWBA. Both parties contacted me. Dems said we’ll address the CWBA after the election. Trump campaign made some adjustments to their plan after talking to us about the CWBA.”
He added,
“Every side is the Darkside for us here in America. They’re all the same until something changes for us. They all lie and they all cheat but we can’t afford not to negotiate with whoever is in power or our condition in this country will never change. Our justice is bipartisan.”
