Trap music has came along way #Roommates, and T.I. wants to pay homage to one of the dopest genere’s of music by curating a pop-up museum.
According to @PageSix, the museum will be called ‘The Trap Muzik Musuem,’ and is set to open in Atlanta on September 30th. The musuem will also celebrate the 15th anniversary of TIP’s album “Trap Muzik,” which is no doubt a dope trap album.
“I wanted to make a classic,” he said when speaking to Noisey about the album recently. “I knew I had to make timeless music, which could stand the test of time. It was about showing that even if you were participating in felonious activities, there were still other things you needed to deal with: you’re not just drug dealing but also dealing with a relationship with your parents, your girlfriend, having a child too young and being looked down on by society as one thing, when you’re actually much more than that definition. … ‘Trap Muzik’ was kind of crystallizing this black experience into a piece of music.”
The museum will show how trap music came to be and how it’s now mainstream. It’ll also highlight some of your faves from Gucci Mane, Future, 2 Chainz and many more.
Vibe reported that artist DL Warfield and journalist Maurice Garland helped out with the musuem.
The musuem also has an “Escape the Trap” room which should be interesting.
Y’all here for the trap musuem?
