While DaBaby was getting dragged on social media Monday for homophobic comments he made during his Rolling Loud set, there were a few people still on his side.
T.I.–who is dealing with his own share of controversy these days–stepped into The Shade Room in defense of Baby, who made remarks about gay fans and people with HIV/AIDS.
You can watch what Baby said below:
T.I. argued that DaBaby had the freedom to say what he said in the same way that Lil Nas X gets to talk about his gay experience.
“If Lil Nas X can kick his s**t in peace…so should dababy #equality,” T.I. commented under DaBaby’s rant.
What T.I. said didn’t go over well with fans, who immediately started calling him out for the sexual allegations he and his wife Tiny are facing.
“TI…baby we stopped listening to your advice a couple allegations ago,” one Roommate commented.
Others let T.I. know that comparing DaBaby and Lil Nas X was not equality.
“Da Baby is bashing/judging people. Lil Nas X is expressing himself, how are these even in the same conversation?” another Roommate said.
Then Amber Rose decided to enter the conversation as an LGBTQ activist and ally.
“What in the homophobia?? Y’all are so mad that @lilnasx is f***ing winning! To be this homophobic feels like they are battling something internally. This is not equality this is hatred. Period,” Amber said in response to T.I.’s comment.
T.I. felt the heat from fans and decided to further address what he said on Instagram Live:
DaBaby ultimately took to his personal IG page to explain his statements but we can’t say it made the situation better. Check out what he had to say below:
