Robbery Suspect Leads High-Speed Pursuit With Baby
Fox11 Los Angeles reports that authorities arrested 21-year-old Daaiyan Henderson and two other men in a July 17 robbery.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said authorities are holding Daaiyan Henderson without bail on charges of kidnapping, child endangerment, and felony evading.
According to ABC7, the incident began with an armed robbery in Beverly Hills, California. Hawthorne police later spotted the suspects’ vehicle and initiated a chase around 5:40 p.m., which led into South Los Angeles.
The driver pulled over in South L.A., and three men fled. Police contained the area and arrested two suspects, who were handed over to Beverly Hills police.
Fox11 Los Angeles confirmed that the third suspect, Daaiyan Henderson, fled in a Kia sedan, sparking a new chase. Daaiyan reportedly livestreamed the pursuit, capturing a woman repeatedly pleading with him to stop the car for the safety of their baby.
Henderson sped through downtown Los Angeles, weaving through traffic, running red lights, and hitting 60-70 mph in Culver City. The chase ended when the suspect reached a dead-end in Blair Hills, leading to a standoff with deputies blocking his escape.

In a video obtained by ABC7, Daaiyan Henderson informed police he had a baby in the car, showing himself holding the infant on his lap in the driver’s seat.
Shortly after, a woman emerged from the back seat holding the child. Henderson then got out of the car, hugged them, and watched as the woman walked over to the deputies.
Per ABC7, the woman faced no charges. Deputies attended to the baby and provided food, medical care, and a diaper change. Despite initial crying, the baby was in good health and returned safely to her mother.

Deputy Tony Lomedico told ABC7 that he and his colleagues were stunned to discover the suspect had led them on a dangerous chase while his child was in the car.
“It’s crazy to think that not only is this guy driving like a madman, not only does he have his two-month-old daughter in the car and his child’s mother, but he’s taking the time to get on his phone and livestream the whole thing. It goes beyond words when you meet an individual like that.”
Fox11 Los Angeles reported that, in addition to Daaiyan Henderson, police also arrested 24-year-old Semaj Lopez, and 19-year-old Michael Smith for the Beverly Hills robbery.
