We have all seen some of Summer Walker’s relationship mishaps play out publicly. However, she has been able to take her pain and transform it into music that many fans across the world have been able to relate to. The success of her music has earned her the top spots on the chart, however, the real-life incidents that have inspired her music continue to remain a difficult moment for her to deal with.
During a recent show, the songstress explained to her audience why they may not see her perform songs from her latest project.
In a video captured by a fan, Summer said, “For anybody that came here and said, ‘aww she didn’t do “Reciprocate,” “Throw It Away,” “Session 33.’ I didn’t do a lot of songs from the new album. I want you to know that this sh*t is real. I write most of my stuff, and it’s still a fresh wound. My baby she not even one yet, and I ain’t got time to be up here singing sh*t crying in front of ya’ll. So I sang what I could. And I hope that ya’ll still enjoy the show.”
In the past, Summer Walker has gone back and forth with London On Da Track, who is not only her former producer but also the father of her baby girl. She has also gone back and forth with the mothers of London’s eldest children. All of which she sings about on her latest project, “Still Over It.”
Nonetheless, Summer pulled from her pain and released another chart-topping album. She has found love again, and she has moved forward as she balances motherhood and superstardom.
