A Straight Outta Compton Sequel Is On It’s Way!
The iconic Daz Dillenger of D.P.G. exclusively told TMZ that a sequel to SOC is in the works and Ice Cube has given it his stamp of approval! He said that the film will follow the rise of Snoop, Nate Dogg, Kurupt, Daz, Warren G and even Tupac. He even let them know what it will be called, “Dogg Pound 4 Life.” This movie will especially focus on DPG’s music and Daz says it will not “whitewash gang violence and its impact on the rap industry”, so CNN, y’all can sit down!
I am so here for this classic West Coast take-over right now! While the sequel will not include the same cast as Dr. Dre and Ice Cube’s film, TMZ reports that Dr. Dre’s son, Curtis Young, is going to play his dad but they don’t know who will be cast for Snoop and Ice Cube. Either way, this gives us a new chance to see more faces that look like us on the movie screens!
Now, if you remember, Daz and Kurupt started Tha Dogg Pound after being signed to Death Row Records early on in their careers, but what would Death Row be without Suge Knight? He played a huge role in Death Row Records and will be included in the story, but they say that the producers won’t exactly be working with him.
