The countdown until Donald Trump’s inauguration is underway, but many people have made it clear that they have no interest in attending.
However, there are other events going down inauguration weekend that have captured the interest of many people. One of those events being ‘The Peace Ball,’ organized by Busboys and Poets owner Andy Shallal.
According to The Washington Post, Solange Knowles is the latest artist to join the lineup for the celebratory event, which will take place at the National Museum of African American History And Culture on January 19th.
Another artist to perform at the event is Esperanza Spalding.
Shallal made it clear that this event is not to protest Trump, but to celebrate artists, activists and progressives. He said, “It’s a celebration of accomplishment — over the last four years, there’s been progress on marriage equality, criminal justice reform, and health care. We don’t always take the time to stand back and look at this great stuff and celebrate.”
Other big names expected to attend the event include, Danny Glover and Fran Drescher.
