The year is quickly coming to an end, which means that the Soul Train Awards is right around the corner.
On Tuesday, the nominations for this year’s award show was announced, and Solange and Bruno Mars earned themselves the most nominations.
Solange is still riding high off of the success of her last project, “A Seat At The Table,” earning her a total of seven nominations. She will be competing in categories such as Best R&B/ Soul Female Artist, Video of the Year and Song of the Year.
Bruno Mars is following behind her with a total of six nominations after the success of his latest album “24K Magic.” Some of the categories he has been nominated for include Best R&B/Soul Male Artist, Video of the Year and Album/ Mixtape of the Year.
Toni Braxton will be honored with the Don Cornelius Legend Award, and SWV will be receiving the Lady of Soul Award. All ladies will be recognized for their long-standing careers and influence within music.
