Social media users are sharing their grief and gratitude for the life of actor Matthew Perry. According to TMZ, the 54-year-old passed away on Saturday, October 28.
According to TMZ, the actor arrived at his Los Angeles home that morning after playing pickleball for two hours.
Perry then sent his assistant out for an errand, and when the person returned almost two hours later, they reportedly found the actor “unresponsive” and called 911.
A law enforcement source reportedly informed the outlet that authorities initially “rushed over on a call for cardiac arrest.” However, when police arrived, it appeared that the actor had drowned as he was found in a jacuzzi.
Law enforcement added that no drugs were found at the scene and “no foul play” was involved.
According to the outlet, Perry was best known for his role as Chandler Bing on the 90s sitcom, ‘Friends.’ However, the actor also donned roles in other series such as ‘Growing Pains,’ ‘Beverly Hills 90210,’ ‘Scrubs,’ and other television and film projects.
Additionally, Perry was notably open about his struggles with drugs and alcohol. In 2022, the actor sat down for an exclusive interview with Diane Sawyer, where he detailed his previous addiction to a pain killer called Vicodin. However, at the time, Perry noted that he “now feels OK and… like he’s got some strength,” per TMZ.
