Here’s Why Social Media Thinks Taylor Swift Is Takin’ Shots At Kim Kardashian
According to TMZ, Swift’s latest album, ‘THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT,’ was released on Friday, April 19. The project features 16 tracks, and one is titled, ‘thanK you aIMee.’
In the song, Swift sings about someone “throwing punches” and beating her “spirit black and blue.” She adds that she doesn’t think the person has “changed much” in recent times and appears to hint at the song’s title by saying she “changed” their name and “any real defining clues.”
TMZ notes that some fans appear to feel the song is about Kim Kardashian since the only capital letters in ‘thanK you aIMee’ spell “KIM.”

A Brief Recap Of The Pair’s Relationship In Recent Years
As The Shade Room previously reported, Swift and Kardashian’s speculated feud appears to date back to 2016. At the time, Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, was married to Kardashian and released the song, ‘Famous.’
In one of the song’s lines, Ye seemed to refer to when he interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech for “Best Female Video” at the 2009 VMAs. At the time, he explained how Beyoncé had “one of the best videos of all time,” per Rolling Stone.
On the ‘Famous‘ track, Ye rapped:
“I feel like me and Taylor might still have s*x; I made that b***h famous.”
According to TMZ, a representative for Swift responded by explaining that the singer was unaware of her being name-dropped in Ye’s song.
“Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric,” the rep stated.
Then, Kim Kardashian came forward to call cap on Swift’s stance, per The Shade Room.
“She totally approved that,” Kardashian reportedly explained. “She totally knew that that was coming out. She wanted to all of a sudden act like she didn’t. I swear, my husband gets so much s**t for things [when] he really was doing proper protocol and even called to get it approved.”
In December 2023, Swift even reflected on the back and forth with Ye and Kim, referring to the incident as “career death.”
