Misa Hylton Recalls The Start If Bad Boy Records
The 51-year-old said that she was 19 and preggers when Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was fired from his job at Uptown Records. The founder, Andre Harrell, reportedly gave him the boot because “there cannot be two Kings in a castle.” Misa said, “Puffy was scared. He had a child on the way and we just moved into a Big beautiful new home.” She continued, “He had me call Dre and ask for his job back several times.” However, “Dre stood on business.”
Hylton said that she supported Combs and he began running Bad Boy “in our basement in Scardale, NY.” She then recalled how they “were at the palladium,” and Diddy gave Funk Master Flex ‘Flava In Ya Ear’ by Craig Mack to play. They waited in anticipation for “the [crowd’s] response,” and “everyone went CRAZZZYYYYYY.”
Misa said this is “[her] life story” and “experience” and asked her followers not to “come here with any negativity, instead try praying for all involved.” She added, “You cannot erase history and cultural impact. This is OUR legacy.” The post ended with her setting the record straight about how old she was at the time. The fashion pioneer stated that the internet had her age wrong, and she turned 20 seven days after giving birth to their son Justin.
Hylton’s positive post about Sean came as a shock to some. As previously reported by The Shade Room, Misa blasted Diddy after Justin was arrested for a DUI last June. She stated that she wasn’t “protecting no one anymore.” Additionally, she stated that seeing the video in May 2024 of Diddy abusing his ex-girlfriend Cassie at a hotel “triggered [her] own trauma.”
