Today marks the official start of the NBA season, and basketball fans are currently in a debate after a comment that Michael Jordan made about Steph Curry in one of his recent interviews. As we previously reported, MJ just opened up in a clinic in Charlotte for those who are uninsured and underinsured.
He sat down with Craig Melvin of the “Today Show,” and during the interview, they talked about the importance of the clinic, as well as Jordan’s legacy. During their discussion, Craig asked if Jordan would still enlist Hakeem Olajuwon, Magic Johnson, Scottie Pippen and James Worthy for a pick-up game of basketball after he listed them six years prior.
Michael Jordan responded and said that he would, and gave his reasons as to why. Craig then said that Steph Curry shouldn’t be offended, to which Jordan responded and said, “I hope not, he’s still a great player, not a Hall of Famer yet though.”
That eventually caused social media to add their opinions into his statement and some people believe Jordan is not giving Steph the credit he deserves. While others think that he was right concerning his statement.
Magic Johnson even chimed in and said, “Everyone relax. We know Steph Curry is a future Hall of Famer…Michael Jordan couldn’t say it because he would get fined by the league.”
Nonetheless, some fans don’t agree with MJ’s statement:
