Six Flags Announces Plans To Reopen All Amusement Parks & Hire Thousands Of Employees

#Roommates, just in time for spring break and summer activities, popular amusement park chain Six Flags has a big plan to welcome back its customers. In a recent announcement, Six Flags confirmed that it plans to open all of its amusement parks throughout the country—and hire thousands of workers in the process.

@NYPost reports, despite the COVID-19 pandemic still raging on, Six Flags has officially announced plans to get back to business. The company just announced that all of its 26 locations will be reopened for the 2021 season, this also includes the five locations that remained closed for the duration of 2020. However, in order to safely reopen, Six Flags revealed the health precautions being taken. Additionally, there is also a plan in place to hire thousands of new employees through upcoming online hiring events.

Customers can expect face coverings and temperature checks for all guests and employees, limited capacity at all parks, mobile-only payments to keep contact to a minimum and an online reservation system to encourage customers to book online instead of interacting at cashier windows. While the majority of the reopening dates are subject to change given continuously updated state health guidelines, Six Flags is currently finalizing reopening dates for California, Massachusetts, Illinois, Canada and Mexico City.

Senior Vice President of Park Operations Bonnie Weber explained the decision to reopen via a company press release.  “Our guests and team members are ready for the return of fun and signature Six Flags thrills in 2021. Last year, we set the standard for operating our parks safely, and entertained millions of guests in adherence to government, and CDC health guidelines at 21 of our 26 parks,” Weber said.

Last year when the company decided to keep select parks open, there was a website warning informing customers that by entering a Six Flags amusement park, they are assuming their own risk of potentially being exposed to COVID-19.
