Roommates, Simone Biles is continuing her winning streak as she gears up to snatch more record-breaking gold medals at this summer’s Olympics in Tokyo—but she also managed to find time to slay a magazine cover in the process. Simone Biles is the latest star to cover ‘Glamour’ magazine and she was all smiles, as she opened up about her career as the world’s greatest gymnast and more!
The entire world will be laser-focused on Simone Biles this July as she once again makes history, breaks records and defies gravity with her jaw-dropping gymnastics at the Tokyo Olympics. As the cover star for the June issue of ‘Glamour’ magazine, Simone discussed her different approach to this year’s Olympic Games compared to those she attended in the past.
“I’m not a little girl anymore. It’s definitely up to me. Nobody’s forcing me. Whenever you’re younger, you feel like it’s a job, and you have to be pushed. But now it’s like, This is what I want to do, so that’s why I’m here. I’ve already done quite a lot, but I’m still trying to reach new heights and see what I’m capable of,” she said.
The Olympics aren’t the only big thing on her plate, as Simone Biles also has big plans for after the games—such as putting together her own all-female gymnastics tour called the Gold Over America Tour (or GOAT for short.)
She explained the reasoning to feature only female gymnasts, saying “It’s an all-girl tour for women’s empowerment. It was a great year for women to speak out, and I think it’s nice to keep the ball rolling on that and to have women feel happy, and find their love and passion for gymnastics again. I know the men were really upset, but it’s my tour.”
We absolutely can’t wait to see Simone in all her #BlackGirlMagic glory kill it at the Tokyo Games!
