After winning a weekend meet, Simone Biles let the internet know she’s sick of being played with! The champion athlete stood ten toes behind her husband, Jonathan Owens, amid the ongoing backlash for his past comments.
Biles dropped a strong f-bomb while addressing the critics on Sunday (May 19) via her Instagram Story.
“I’m going to quickly address this, this joke was never a joke! Y’all are blatantly being disrespectful to my relationship and my husband. So I’m gonna go ahead & say this one time. Respectfully, f**k off.”
Additionally, the gymnast warned that she’d block anyone who continues to mention her in content dragging her man.
“And no I don’t need to touch grass or whatever tf y’all suggest,” Simone Biles added. “@everyone else that supports us, we love y’all so much [heart hands emoticon].”
For context, Jonathan Owens has been in and out of the hot seat since Dec. 2023. During that time, his sit-down with ‘The Pivot Podcast’ went viral for several comments he made.
First, he claimed that he had no idea who Simone was when they first met on the exclusive dating app Raya. Then, he insulted his bride in the eyes of fans when he called himself “the catch” and shared that she drove 45 minutes to meet him the first time.
In April, Simone shared that the ongoing backlash against her husband has made her “break down” in the past. She said she’d shed tears because she couldn’t “clap back,” but it seems the latest comments might’ve pushed our good sis over the edge!
Meanwhile, Jonathan backed up his wife’s clapback by reposting it on his Instagram Story with a lil’ sauce of his own.
“If y’all gone support, support!!! If not respectfully keep scrolling. Cause being fake mad about people y’all don’t know from a can of paint is weirdo behavior.”
As mentioned, Biles walked away with the first-place title at the 2024 Core Hydration Gymnastics Classic on Saturday (May 18). The event was held in Hartford, Connecticut. According to Vanity Fair, it marked the first time Biles has competed against fellow Olympians Suni Lee and Gabby Douglas in the same meet.
The competition was also Simone’s first meet of the season. She is a 37-time world and Olympic medalist, per NBC News.

Following her W, Simone thanked her hubby Jonathan for his support in an Instagram post. The post is likely what stirred the renewed backlash against Owens and his past comments mentioned above.
In the post’s caption, Simone Biles wrote, “My whole heart, the best supporter, I couldn’t ask for a better husband.” It included a photo of them sharing a kiss on the lips at the meet and a selfie.
Earlier this month, Biles and Owens celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary. As previously reported, the couple tied the knot twice — first in a Texas courthouse in April and then again in a Cabo San Lucas, Mexico ceremony. Last year, she told PEOPLE that she wore four different dresses during the destination wedding weekend.
