Whew, chile! Sexyy Red had the innanet in shambles due to a comment she made regarding those with 4C hair.
It all started when Sexyy Red uploaded a video of her natural tresses on Instagram. The quick clip sees another person driving their fingers through her straight hair and tossing it from side to side.
While many social media users were happy to see Sexyy’s hair in its natural state, it was really her caption that set things off.
“You carpet hair beanie neck haux could never,” the Pound Town performer wrote.
Shortly after, Sexyy seemed to explain her statement via her Instagram Story, writing, “I fw people wit carpet hair dey coo but if you talkin s**t ima call you ‘carpet hair’ nun against my fello 4c hoochies.”
The Roomies didn’t hesitate to react to Sexyy Red’s comments about natural hair. Several social media users hopped in The Shade Room comment section to call her out for making such derogatory statements toward the black community.
Instagram user @nyrivve wrote, “Y’all get a silk press and start being texurist which is so weird.”
Instagram user @fyahara wrote, “Being black and talking bad about natural black hair is crazy.”
While Instagram user @letsgetcooking_guys wrote, “This type of foolishness make young black girls think their natural hair is not cute. We need to stop this nonsense and name calling.”
Then Instagram user @thelovelee_rn wrote, “I have 4C hair & it looks like this when pressed out as well so I am confused.”
Instagram user @youlovebuu wrote, “Not only is she disrespecting us but she’s supplying these people with other insults to throw at us. That s*** is not cool.”
Another Instagram user @jermarcustate wrote, “Texturism and colorism in the black community is getting very exhausting, it’s disappointing.”
Lastly, Instagram user @khaliavuitton wrote, “Friendly reminder that your hair is beautiful as it is ladies, with no manipulation and with no product. You are enough.”
Sexyy Red has been a hot topic on the internet throughout this month. Just last week, the ‘Hood Rats’ musician had social media users questioning whether or not she underwent plastic surgery.
Red revealed a look at her high, firm breasts in a black bra, with clear tape visibly covering part of each perky, seemingly new addition.
In another photo, she stands in a room decorated with flowers and balloons, dressed in a black cropped top, grey sweatpants, and her signature bonnet. White bandages partially cover her chest cleavage.
