Nothing goes to waste in Serena Williams‘ home — especially not her breast milk.
The retired tennis champion and mom of two shared a video on her Instagram on Wednesday (December 20) highlighting her breastfeeding journey. She had just concluded a trip to New York.
Wiliams became a mother for a second time in August when she welcomed her baby daughter, Adira, whom she shares with Alexis Ohanian.
Given that she’s back to pumping milk for her infant, and with their time in the Big Apple drawing to a close, Williams decided she wasn’t going to take the milk home with her. Instead, she’d be donating it to a mother in need.
In a short clip, Williams showed her followers multiple packs of breast milk inside the freezer, ready to be sealed and delivered to a mother and her baby.
She accompanied the clip with a caption in which she explained that, after recently passing a screening, she would be giving her milk away.
Williams wrote, “On a recent trip to NY I had leftover breast milk. After going through a screening, I was able to donate it instead of taking the milk home. I know so many amazing women that adopt or are unable to make milk. It felt amazing. BTW Someone out there is getting some super soldier milk.”
Williams declared her enthusiasm in supplying breast milk “to people who really need it” before concluding the video by saying that she’s excited to be some sort of help.
Serena Williams Uses Breast Milk To Treat Sunburns
In a TikTok video posted on December 2, Williams demonstrated how she applied her own breast milk as an unconventional facial treatment.
“They say, ‘Put breast milk on everything, and I have a lot extra,” she said, “so I’m going to try it for a week or so under my eyes.”
@serena Ok is this totally weird??? I have to say after a week of using MY breast milk under my eye – it worked! I’m dying to hear your thoughts. Be nice lol 🙈 #momsoftiktok #fyp #foryourpage #serenawilliams #life #beauty #motherhood #momhumour #moms
Williams went on to explain that her sensitive skin, combined with direct sunlight after using a skin care product, resulted in her having sunburn spots underneath her eyes.
In the video on TikTok, she thoroughly shakes the bottle of breast milk before taking a bit of it and applying it to a tissue that she then used to dab the area underneath her eyes.
In the caption of the video, Williams expressed that the treatment was effective, noting, “After a week of applying MY breast milk around my eyes, the results were visible!”
