Senior Class Does A Meaningful Gesture To Motherless Classmate

Roommates, have any of you lost a parent? Did you lose them at a young age? Unfortunately, such was the case for a senior student whose mother passed away before having the privilege of watching her son graduate. Fortunately, a very touching gesture from his fellow classmates caused tears to flow during their senior breakfast. Because Of Them We Can spoke with student Joseph Rogers and got his account of the moving act of brotherhood.

“Saw a beautiful thing, today. During our senior class breakfast every year, we give students a pin with a scroll and mortar board, and have families place them on their son. One senior was alone. His aunt was working and his mother passed several years ago. My co-worker, Mrs. Parham, was all set to stand in for the aunt; but, the senior officers came to us and said to let them handle it.

They brought the student to the front of the banquet hall and told them that though his mother can not be here, his BROTHERS always would be. I have to tell you, I’ve never been prouder. In the picture, our class president has his arm around the student. The gentleman in the suspenders is our Principal. Some times, working with these students is amazing!!! Go Hurricanes.”

What an amazing expression of brotherhood!
