‘Selling Sunset’ star Chelsea Lazkani is closing a major chapter in her love life! Lazkani has filed for divorce from her husband, Jeff, per court documents obtained by TMZ.
Chelsea reportedly listed “irreconcilable differences” as the reason behind the split. However, she wasn’t as clear about their separation date. She is seeking spousal support but hasn’t clarified her stance on Jeff receiving alimony. At this time, the divorce petition does not cite a signed prenup.
As for how their assets will be divided, Chelsea is leaving it up to the courts to decide.
Chelsea Lazkani and Jeff tied the knot in 2017 after meeting two years prior, meaning the divorce comes shortly before their seventh anniversary. She and her estranged hubby joined the home sales series in April 2022 for its fifth season.
In March of that same year, she told PEOPLE about the importance of having her husband’s support in joining the cast.
“I think having the support of my husband and my family really essentially prepared me to take on this big role and this big opportunity,” Chelsea told PEOPLE. “But for me personally, I saw this as an opportunity to really open doors in an industry that has lacked diversity and where minorities are underrated.”
The British-Nigerian added that the greater purpose behind joining the series was pushing forward the image of “Black women in [the] luxury sector in real estate.” She appeared in the show’s latest season, no. seven, which premiered in November.
The ‘Selling Sunset’ real estate agent didn’t hold back in the divorce petition for her expectations for their two children, three-year-old Melia and five-year-old Maddox. She’s reportedly seeking joint physical and legal of the kids.
Chelsea previously told The Daily Mail that her connection with Jeff felt “immediate.” After meeting on Tinder, they spoke at least 15 times before the first in-person meeting.
As of Thursday, Chelsea has not addressed the divorce on social media.
