Diddy Day Gets Revoked
According to the Miami Herald, the Miami Beach Commission has revoked the proclamation declaring October 13th as ‘Sean Diddy Combs Day.’
Billboard reports that Diddy originally received the honorary recognition from Mayor Phillip Levine at a REVOLT conference in 2016.
The announcement follows a federal sex-trafficking investigation that included raids on the Bad Boy mogul’s South Beach mansion three months ago. Per the Miami Herald, the commission rescinded the recognition without holding any discussion on Wednesday, June 26.
Miami Beach officials have stated that, in light of Diddy’s accusations, they have decided that the honorary day no longer reflects the city’s values.
“Upon reflection, the Mayor and City Commission have determined that recognizing October 13, 2016 as ’Sean Diddy Combs Day’ is no longer in harmony with the City’s values of safety, community well-being, and respect, and wish to rescind the proclamation.”
