Scottie Pippen Shares His Eldest Son Has Passed Away At 33: ‘Rest Easy Until We Meet Again’

We are sending prayers to Scottie Pippen and his family after the retired NBA champ revealed his eldest son Antron has passed away at the age of 33.

Scottie broke the news Monday, sharing that his son died the day before.

“I’m heartbroken to share that yesterday, I said goodbye to my firstborn son Antron,” Scottie began the heartfelt message. “The two of us shared a love for basketball and we had countless conversations about the game.”

While Scottie did not reveal his son’s cause of death, he shared that Antron suffered from chronic asthma, but despite his illness, Scottie says he was a talented basketball player.

Antron played basketball at Texas A&M International University. He also spent time hoopin’ at South Georgia Technical College, which paid tribute to Antron on Monday.

“Antron suffered from chronic asthma and if he hadn’t had it, I truly believe he would’ve made it to the NBA,” Scottie said. “He never let that get him down, though–Antron stayed positive and worked hard, and I am so proud of the man that he became.”

Antron was born to Scottie and his then wife Karen McCollum in 1987.

“Please keep his mom, Karen, and all of his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. A kind heart and beautiful soul gone way too soon. I love you, son, rest easy until we meet again,” Scottie ended the message.

We’re praying for the Pippen family during this difficult time.
